background: yeah it's cheesey and shaped like a christmas tree. it was the holiday season and i was in an emotional state of rebound from the demise of my marriage. to say traci didn't give me the time of day would be wrong. but the time i got was woefully inadequate and i made a fool of myself and was given no chance for redemption. had i been given that chance though i doubt we would have gone far. she was impeccably beautiful (despite the opinion of a close friend) but i think our differences in religion and money would have tortured us eventually. and besides, as i said, she would have been a rebound to me.
also in a previous job, for awhile, one of my duties involved periodically creating personalized thank you cards for customers. a coworker came to me and requested a special card for his wife. it was well known that they were having problems. i thought it was a great idea and because he wasn't sure what to say i offered my poem. his wife's name of course at the top. to my dismay and more so to my coworker, they split up awhile later. i'm not saying the poem ever played any role and that's ok but sometime later they got back together and as far as i know were doing well. i have stated before that i haven't a clue what goes back and forth in the female brain but i like to think and maybe harmlessly delude myself to hope that my poem helped them in a minuscule way.

The female brain is a scary place - you should trying living in it!
I can't imagine a woman who isn't touched by poetry. And this was not cheesy.....it is beautiful and special.

Save the next life for something more stable!
I can't imagine any woman that wouldn't appreicate the gesture in such a sweet poem. Very creative in format, meaningful in feeling.. .what is not to like? I'm sure your poem did extend the life of that relationship for a little bit! As for the female brain... run like hell. It is a scary and emotional hole with a lot of highs and lows.
All those thoughts in zero to 15. I repeat RUN RUN RUN. Glad you will save it for another life. I knew you were a smart man!
